History and Heritage

CSI College of Education, Parassala has been established in 1995 as an unaided College as per the order No. 12004/B3/95H. Edn. dated 06.10.1995, Government of Kerala. The College is affiliated to the University of Kerala Ac.B1.3775/95 dated 23.11.1995 recognized by NCTE F/SRO/NCTE/98-99/1442 dated 19.08.1998 and accredited by NAAC with B'grade in 2013. It is a Minority Institution owned and managed by the Diocese of South Kerala, (SIUC) Church of South India. The College was formally inaugurated by our former Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. Samuel Amirtham on 03.01.1996. The College is committed to impart holistic end so as to make our student teachers real asset to the New Millenium. We envisage developing its field by offering more courses in various aspects of Teacher Education with the sanction of the concened authorities in near future. The College, at present imparts training to 100 Students at graduation level and 100 Students at-post graduation level in five different school subjects' viz. teaching of (a) English (b) Mathematics (c) Physical Science (d) Natural Science and (e) Social Science. A hostel for women is also functioning in this institution. Every effort has been painstakingly undertaken to ensure that the norms specified by National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE) are fulfilled.

Academic Programs

The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) program at CSI College of Education is designed to equip aspiring educators with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience needed to thrive in today’s educational landscape. The program is structured to meet the needs of students who wish to specialize in specific subjects while developing a strong foundation in educational theory and practice. Our B.Ed. program offers a wide range of subject specializations, allowing students to focus on their areas of interest. These specializations include:

A Master of Education (M.Ed) is a postgraduate degree designed for individuals seeking advanced knowledge in education, often focusing on educational theory, leadership, and specialized areas like curriculum development, educational psychology, or administration. The number of seats available for M.Ed course is 50. 50% of the seats are filled by the Government and the rest are filled by the Management. Those who have passed B.Ed degree examination of the University of Kerala or any other University recognized by the Kerala University as equivalent there to are eligible for admission to the B.Ed Degree Course.
